Dragonlords

Anonymous asked: How long have you all been working on this story? You say there are only three behind it, but you are nearing 100 chapters and you say there are more in reserve. Not to mention the side stories?! It seems like a crazy amount. When do you have time for all this? Especially between more then one person! Do you all plan it ahead of time together too?

The story you see published here is just one of many the three of us role play in our spare time. Specially the first book, it was written between Zyo and me (Hikaru) in tandem over MSN, and Zyo then formatted it for easier reading (mostly deleting the ____ says: parts between our posts.) We first began the RP on the 17th of January, 2009. So we’re going on a year and a half of time since we began it.

In general, I’d say we role play about 3-5 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s something we can do while doing other things on the computer and yes, we spend a lot of time there.

As the ‘dungeon master’ of the story, most of the planning is done by me, usually right before falling asleep as I lay in bed after the latest session. Some parts are talked over with the others, but for the most part, I guide the story and they react, as it’s meant to be fun for us, and I love surprising them. Even with this, I never program TOO far ahead, because then I get impatient to get to such and such scene, and fast forward too much. (It helps though, that I am roughly following Dragonlance stories.)

Right at this point though, I already know the rough outline of what is happening all the way to the very end. I have gaps to fill in to flesh out what would become Book Three, and I’ve yet to decide how I’m fitting the ‘final scenes’ with the flow of events (I may have to switch things around and so on). It’s all fun for us though, and having readers actually stick around a very uplifting experience.
